The newest figures are in...

In case you are interested in keeping tabs, we thought we'd give you a pre-Christmas update, just in case someone might be looking for a GREAT Christmas gift.  Your gift to this cause will make possible 2 1/2-3 months of work in Kenya, Malawi, and Liberia this year.

We're getting ready to ticket our first trip to Malawi which will find us stopping off in Kenya to visit with some missionary friends and a Children's Home that we have been supporting since 1989.  The cost to fly to Nairobi, on one ticket, and to fly to Lilongwe, Malawi on a separate ticket actually came in at less than the cost to fly directly to Lilongwe (even though we would fly through Nairobi, go figure) and so we thought we'd take the opportunity to do some work in Kenya on the way.

The start to our fundraising has been a bit slower than expected so we thought we send out a reminder.  Christmas can be a very busy and, for some, a very expensive holiday, so we understand.  But we also know that we have a very generous set of donors and friends who have historically provided well for our work. The bottom line is that of today we are at about $1800 of the almost $11000 needed with another $5000 already committed.

We're pretty excited that we will be able to travel together this time.  And it will be Carol's first time in Malawi so Glen's pretty excited to be able to introduce her to the country in which he initially found his calling to mission.

Malawi is referred to as the warm heart of Africa due to the warmth of their welcome, even though they are often listed in the poorest 5 countries of the world.  Visitors are always welcome!

So, if you've been considering a Christmas gift to something that is Christ-honoring, mission-mided, and kingdom-oriented...here's your "sign".

Checks should be made out to: Holliday Alliance Church (memo: Special Mission Hallead) and mailed to the church at 33 Oakwood Dr Middlebury, PA 16935.

May all of your Christmas celebrations

be seasoned with the Savior's love.

Future Ministry...

Dear Friends,

After prayerful deliberation and many conversations, Carol and I have decided to continue in the work Glen previously established with the African Bible Colleges. We recently visited the African Bible Colleges, USA office in Charlotte, NC to debrief last June’s Malawi visit. At the conclusion of that visit we were invited and encouraged to make two follow-up trips to Malawi, this time with both of us going. So, sometime next spring and then again in the autumn we will spend a month or so (each visit) at the ABC Campus in Lilongwe, Malawi. (The fall trip may also include an extension for Glen to visit the ABC Campus in Yekepa, Liberia to establish some work with the college there.)

While we are both excited by the possibilities that these trips hold, we also realize the immense responsibility this places on us and our supporters in fundraising. The African Bible Colleges has committed to covering all of our housing expenses for the two Malawi and one Liberia trip which significantly reduces the amount we’ll need to raise. Carol and I continue to be committed to providing all personal expenses including food, any medical, and passport/visa expenses.

What we are hoping to raise, and asking you to consider helping us with, is just the actual transportation expenses for these trips. Below you will find an estimate of the estimated costs. It is our hope that you will prayerfully consider a one time gift, a pledge of monthly support, or a general end of year gift, in accordance with your interest, ability, and, most importantly, your sense of God’s leading in this matter.

The fields are ripe for the harvest and the church has been commanded by Christ to pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send out workers. It is our hope that you will first and foremost pray, and then, God willing, help send out these two willing workers to attend to harvest matters. We believe the time is short, the days are evil, and the harvest is plentiful. Our ministry helps build up other harvest workers who willingly share the gospel with their own people, in their own language, sometimes at a cost we can only imagine.

Would you prayerfully consider your role in this and let us know. We remain...

     Yours in Faith and Hope,

      Glen and Carol Hallead
